Scaling AI in organisations with Platform Engineering
Lauri Suomalainen & Mike Vainio
About this talk
One AI enthusiast can make a huge impact to how a software team works, but transforming a department or a whole organisation requires a methodological approach. How do you avoid continuously re-inventing the wheel and prevent processes, tools and practices sprawling out of hand when code is being produced faster than ever?
This talk discusses AI adoption patterns and practices in big organisations that develop software and how platform engineering approaches can be used to scale AI-powered software development technologies across cross-functional teams. The talk recontextualises platform engineering best practices to the AI age, touching topics like Harness Engineering, retaining developer ownership and responsibility, and including deterministic tools in the development pipeline for verification, validation, and maintaining quality.
