Scaling from fragmented AI use to AI-native teams — Lessons from real transformation cases

Aino Makkonen & Teemu Äijälä

About this talk

Every client we work with is already using AI, but none of them have scaled it. The pattern is always the same: individual experimentation → fragmented value → stuck.

This talk is about what it actually takes to turn a team or a process — not just individual users — into an AI-native one, and for the benefits to become tangible and durable rather than local and anecdotal. It draws on real transformation engagements we're currently running across some of the largest companies in Finland.

We'll cover the different motivations behind these programs, and why skipping a real baseline before scaling is the fastest way to stall. We'll unpack the core lesson so far: the unit of change has to expand, from individual to team to workflow to operating model. We'll share the pitfalls that derail scaling as well as what has actually worked, with early results. We'll close with concrete success factors we'd apply from day one if we started again today.

Aino MakkonenSiili Solutions

Aino is a principal consultant at Siili, specializing in business design, product leadership and CX in the age of AI. She brings together customer behavior insight, business strategy and transformation and AI capabilities to help organizations become AI-native and create future-forward outputs.

Aino’s background spans from shaping business cases and digital strategies to leading large-scale engagements and teams with accountability across business ownership, design direction and delivery. Currently her focus is increasingly on AI transformations — how to organizationally scale and embed AI into products, services, and ways of working while being architecturally sound, commercially grounded, and human-orchestrated.

Teemu ÄijäläSiili Solutions

Teemu works at the intersection of product ownership, design and software development, with a focus on how AI is changing the way digital product teams operate.

His current work explores agentic product development: how Product Owners, designers and engineers need to adapt when AI becomes an active collaborator in planning, design and delivery. A particular area of interest is how teams make product intent, design constraints, decisions and organisational knowledge understandable to both humans and AI agents.
