Speed, quality and control: an AI-native lifecycle that survives the audit

Rolf Koski

About this talk

When AI agents write most of the code, building software stops being the slow part. Planning, review, verification and release still run at human speed, and in a regulated business each must answer three questions: what was specified, how was it verified, who signed off.

This talk walks the full lifecycle, idea to production, and shows why speed and control are not a trade-off. For each stage: what changes, what to put in place, what breaks, and what to measure. Requirements that both people and AI can act on, knowledge organised so AI sees the right context, checks that stop bad changes before they ship, rules for when AI must hand a decision to a person, a traceable record of every automated change, and a release decision that stays with people.

Proven in our own product development and in advising other companies' software teams in regulated industries. Speed, quality and control come from the same mechanisms; adopting them is a leadership decision as much as a technical one.
